What is AS2?
AS2 is a standard for sending business documents such as EDI files over the internet. Each message is signed and encrypted, and the receiver returns a signed receipt called an MDN.
Do I need AS2 expertise?
No. The gateway handles encryption, signatures and receipts. You only need your partner's AS2 ID, endpoint URL and certificate.
How large can a message be?
Each message can carry up to 10 MB of data, including up to 10 attachments.
How long are messages kept?
Messages are kept for 60 days when SFTP, S3 or API integration is on, and 180 days otherwise. Files copied to the SFTP server stay there for 48 hours.
What if I go over my message allowance?
Add extra message blocks to your plan or move to a larger plan. Upgrades and downgrades carry no extra fee.
Does the gateway translate EDI formats?
No. It moves files securely between you and your partners. Mapping X12 or EDIFACT documents to your own formats happens in your ERP or EDI software.
